The Government still looks not very clear on the reasons for the recent general election bad results..Even now already more than a month after the general election and also 4 Cabinet meeting but the rakyat still have not see any concrete actions from the Government so far.Probably they still can't accept the reality and their time only spend to find the scapegoat for the failure in the respective party in the coalitions.
MCA suffered heavy losses in the election. They only managed to win 15 parliament seats out of 40 they were contested and 31 state seats out of 90 seats they were contested. In the most Chinese voters state, Penang they lost all seats and Kuala Lumpur , Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan they were badly lost. What's the real 'truth' behind the failure? Is it because the President's mistake? Does he have to take the full responsibility?Or is it because of UMNO factor?Former MCA Vice President Dato Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said what's the meaning of MCA existence if the Chinese community no longer support it?UMNO needs badly the non Malay votes in the next general election after the malay votes split among PKR , PAS and UMNO.If MCA no longer relevant to the Chinese then it will be no relevant to UMNO too.The leaders of MCA must strive to gain back the trust from the Chinese. They must have a vision to rule the country and at the same time cooperate with other component parties especially UMNO on equal relationship. The leader must be capable with good vision and dare to raise up for all races issues that are treated inequality. They must be able to communicate closely with all component party leaders.MCA must see the recent scenario as a new chance for revolution and rebuild within the party.MCA can get a "new life" if their leaders change in their thinking and approach. The recent general election saw quite a number of young elected representatives from the opposition parties.MCA definitely needs new and young members, a party that without young members means no future for the party. The party Divisional level for example ,should recruits more educated and professional members into the leadership. They should not appoint members of the Division Committee ONLY base on how many members each branches has .They should also recruit some young members who are willing, dedicated and able to serve the party. The educated young fresh blood will definitely energise the party to face the future challenges. Some members suggest that the MCA State Liaison Committee should be elected and not appointed. Some even suggest that the President should be elected by all party members instead of party central delegates. It is time for change and I sincerely hope that a real change will happen within the party to give a new life for MCA.
Malaysian waiting for a new MCA facing A NEW MALAYSIA in the coming two party system scenario.
