A NEW GOVERNMENT IN SEPTEMBER?FOR BETTER OR WORSE?

Recently a very hot topic in Malaysia politic is that some MP from BN may crossover to PR especially those from East Malaysia, particularly MP from Sabah. Last few months,Sabah MP from difference party voiced out their unhappiness over the treatments from the federal goverment towards Sabah. They complained about not enough minister post given to them considering the contribution on the parliament seats from Sabah. They also complained that those 3 ministerial post currently given to them are not important post. Other issues that are raised up by them are illegal immigrants, oil royalty and labuan island issue.

After the 308 general election, many believe that it could be the beginning of the much awaited formation of a two-party system in our beloved country. But the recent development in the country have definitely put a doubt on whether we are really ready to change toward the betterment of the country.

Firstly, when the Bar Council organised a forum to discuss issues pertaining to islam conversion,a group of people rudely challenged the reason for such discussion. According to them, this kind of issues are sensitive and it will hurt the feeling of muslim. As far as Bar Council are concerned, the forum is trying to know more about islam and hoping to find a better way to solve the problems that are arising from someone who converted to islam and affecting their family member's life. That group of people protested and shouted outside Bar Council at first but later on went inside the forum room (even accompanied by policemen) and shouted at the speakers. The situation were quite intimidating then.

Secondly, when MB of Selangor Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim suggested that UITM open merely 10% for non bumiputra, those UMNO leaders protested and labelled him as betrayer.UITM students demonstrated all over the country saying the University only meant for bumiputra.

In last few days' Permatang Pauh by election, one of the UMNO leaders,Bukit Bendera UMNO ch ief Ahmad Ismail said the Chinese are only 'orang tumpangan' di Malaysia. That kind of statement shows that UMNO have not learned from the 308 'political tsunami'.They are still very racist and not sensitive at all towards other races' feeling.

By election results showed that Malay, Chinese and Indian voted NO to racist party.
Now DSAI is the Opposition Leader in Parliament, so will the much talk about 916 become reality? All I know is that if UMNO still implementing all those race-based policy, they have to pay for it. If not 916 it will not be long too.

do you think a new government will guarantee a better future?
for the better or worse? what do you think? maybe only God knows.....

A NEW MALAYSIA

A new Malaysia is on the way to form after the shocking and eye-opener 2008 general election results. There are too many issues causing BN suffered its political tsunami in the history of Malaysia namely race based policies , insecurity, inflation and judiciary injustice.

BN lost Perak , Selangor, Kedah and Penang states government to opposition parties now called Pakatan Rakyat and failed to recapture Kelantan state from PAS. In federal, BN no doubt managed to lead the government but with 8 short of 2/3 majorities needed to form a strong government.

The electorate has spoken, the new government must respond and make neccesary adjustment to the radical change in the thinking of malaysian on politics. The recent scenario definitely has paved the way for the formation of two party system of government as in advance country like Australia, Canada and USA.
THe present government must treats all races fairly, provide safe environment to live, weeding out corrruption and to have a independence, integrity and quality of judiciary.
It's time for real soul-searching. It's time to have a new Malaysia.

A NEW MALAYSIA with good governance, racial equality in education and employment opportunities, freedom of speech and religious freedom to turn Malaysia into a liberal modern global nation.

MCA WHAT'S NEXT?

MCA suffered its worst results since 1969 in the recent 2008 general election. What is going wrong with MCA?The Chinese voters gave strong support to them during the 2004 general election when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi promised to be Prime Minister for all races. We knew that he did not fulfill what he had promised to do.There are few core issues why most non malay or even some malay voted for oppositions party this time.I personally think that race-based policies is the main factor. Our country achieved its independence for 50 years now but race inequality in works ( especially government projects) ,educations (for example MCA still need to 'beg' for a Chinese primary school and even though they manage to 'beg' one ,they still need to raise fund from the Chinese community to build it up.It is sad as the Chinese are tax payers too.The national schools wouldn't have these kind of problems ),speech ( when non Malay try to raise their rights as a malaysian normally it will only follow by attacks from the Government extremist) and religious( the demolition of Hindu temple in Shah Alam is a good example that the Government is not sensitive in other race's religion)

The Government still looks not very clear on the reasons for the recent general election bad results..Even now already more than a month after the general election and also 4 Cabinet meeting but the rakyat still have not see any concrete actions from the Government so far.Probably they still can't accept the reality and their time only spend to find the scapegoat for the failure in the respective party in the coalitions.

MCA suffered heavy losses in the election. They only managed to win 15 parliament seats out of 40 they were contested and 31 state seats out of 90 seats they were contested. In the most Chinese voters state, Penang they lost all seats and Kuala Lumpur , Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan they were badly lost. What's the real 'truth' behind the failure? Is it because the President's mistake? Does he have to take the full responsibility?Or is it because of UMNO factor?Former MCA Vice President Dato Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said what's the meaning of MCA existence if the Chinese community no longer support it?UMNO needs badly the non Malay votes in the next general election after the malay votes split among PKR , PAS and UMNO.If MCA no longer relevant to the Chinese then it will be no relevant to UMNO too.The leaders of MCA must strive to gain back the trust from the Chinese. They must have a vision to rule the country and at the same time cooperate with other component parties especially UMNO on equal relationship. The leader must be capable with good vision and dare to raise up for all races issues that are treated inequality. They must be able to communicate closely with all component party leaders.MCA must see the recent scenario as a new chance for revolution and rebuild within the party.MCA can get a "new life" if their leaders change in their thinking and approach. The recent general election saw quite a number of young elected representatives from the opposition parties.MCA definitely needs new and young members, a party that without young members means no future for the party. The party Divisional level for example ,should recruits more educated and professional members into the leadership. They should not appoint members of the Division Committee ONLY base on how many members each branches has .They should also recruit some young members who are willing, dedicated and able to serve the party. The educated young fresh blood will definitely energise the party to face the future challenges. Some members suggest that the MCA State Liaison Committee should be elected and not appointed. Some even suggest that the President should be elected by all party members instead of party central delegates. It is time for change and I sincerely hope that a real change will happen within the party to give a new life for MCA.

Malaysian waiting for a new MCA facing A NEW MALAYSIA in the coming two party system scenario.
